Put it ALL together

It is important to keep in mind that if any aspect of your game-plan is neglected, then that is your defining capacity. The saying goes, “You’re only as strong as your weakest link.” This is an inherent, resounding truth. If you do not take the time to plan out and encompass the entirety of your goal, be it a short term or long term goal, you will probably miss the mark. You must envision the complete idea and follow it through. There are no short-cuts, and if you find that you have made quick gains in a short time you should heed caution and be sure to not rest on your laurels. They are usually a pitfall in achieving true and ultimate success. Each long term goal should be checked by milestones and full of short term, more easily accomplished, goals.  For example: Top Tier Athlete. You must make working out and nutrition your lifestyle, and for most, although some may be athletic already, they neglect nutrition and total body wellness and rely solely on their athletic prowess. Some well make the next step and focus on repair and longevity through proper lifestyle changes, most will use supplements and the like to fuel their bodies instead of natural foods. While for some this is ideal and most will think that it is “ok” to do that, in reality most actually have no idea what true nutrition is. Calories in and calories out is an old school mentality, and even though it has some validity, it never addresses the importance of vitamins and minerals that are the true basis of a proper lifestyle. These often overlooked nutrients are what fuel the cellular processes that keep us moving, repair, prevent disease, establish healthy body weight, etc. So many people these days focus on protein consumption… well what else does the body need?  Starting a journey with one shoe on seems silly, but that analogy can be true for most who think by drinking a protein drink after a workout is all they need. Hello?! Take that philosophy and apply it to other areas of life, you may find that, indeed, most aspects are lacking and could use a makeover and a revamp!
